Squeeze Privacy Policy

No account. No analytics. No tracking. No third-party SDKs. Nothing about your files is transmitted anywhere: not the files, not their names, not their sizes, not how many of them there are.

Squeeze compresses images, video and PDFs using the codecs inside the app, on the Mac it is installed on. There is no server in the path, because there is no server.

Everything Squeeze records stays inside its own folder on your Mac, in the macOS app sandbox. Nothing is synced, backed up to us, or sent anywhere. There are three things:

• History, so you can see what you compressed and how much you saved. Each entry holds the date, the file names, their formats, the sizes before and after, and where the output was written.
• Preferences: your presets, your default destination, and how long to keep history.
• Your free daily allowance: three numbers and a date, so Squeeze knows how much of today's allowance you have used. It is reset by the calendar, not by us.

History stores the names and paths of your files, which is personal information, so it is worth being exact about it: Squeeze stores no file contents and no thumbnails of your media. There is nowhere in it to put them.

• It never uploads your files. Compression happens entirely on your Mac, using the codecs built into the app.
• It has no analytics. No usage statistics, no crash reporting service, no telemetry of any kind.
• It does not track you, across apps, websites or anywhere else, and it contains no advertising identifiers.
• It has no account system. There is nothing to sign in to.
• It bundles no third-party SDKs that could collect anything. The two bundled libraries, libwebp and libvpx, are image and video codecs with no network code in them.

Squeeze Pro is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, not us. We never see your name, your card, your address or your Apple Account. Squeeze asks the App Store one question, whether this Apple Account owns Squeeze Pro, and the App Store answers yes or no.

If you bought Squeeze Pro through Family Sharing, that same answer is what tells Squeeze you own it. Apple's own privacy policy covers the purchase itself: apple.com/legal/privacy.

• Settings, Keep history: forever, one year, or 90 days. Older entries are deleted when the app launches.
• Settings, Clear History: removes every entry immediately. It deletes none of your own files.
• Delete the app: everything described on this page goes with it. There is no copy anywhere else, because there was never a copy anywhere else.

Squeeze is not directed at children, and since it collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.

If Squeeze ever changes what it stores or what it sends, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something and update the wording afterwards.
