NachoBill Privacy Policy

No account. No sign-up. No analytics. No tracking. No third-party SDKs. Nothing about a split, a receipt or the people at the table is transmitted anywhere.

The bill is read by the recogniser already inside iOS and parsed by code inside the app. There is no server in that path, because we do not run one.

NachoBill asks for the camera so it can photograph a bill, and the permission text in the app says exactly what happens to it: NachoBill reads your receipt on this phone. The photo never leaves the device.

The photograph is not stored. It is read, turned into lines of text and amounts, and then it is gone. Even the positions of those lines on the image are deliberately not saved, because they describe a photograph that no longer exists.

NachoBill asks for no access to your photo library at all. When you pick a picture you already took, the system picker runs outside the app and hands back the one image you chose. The app never sees the rest.

Four files, inside the app's own container on your phone. No account, no sync, no network at any point in a split:

• Your splits, so a finished split outlives closing the app. A record holds the lines as they were read, the amounts, the names you typed, and when you closed it out. It does not hold the photograph.
• Your saved groups, because the people you eat with are usually the same people. These are names you typed.
• Whether you have unlocked the app, so a paid user is unlocked on the first frame, in an aeroplane, before the App Store has answered.
• Your preferences, including which receipt languages you switched on, so onboarding does not replay on every launch.

The names in there are names you chose to type. NachoBill never reads your contacts and has no permission to.

Reading receipts in all 26 languages needs no network. The recogniser is already on your phone and the receipt vocabulary is already in the app, so a language you switch on in Bangkok works in Bangkok whether or not you have roaming.

What can be downloaded is an optional dish-name lexicon, an accuracy top-up for how well item names are read. It never decides whether a language works and it never touches an amount. That download uses Apple's On-Demand Resources and comes from Apple's servers. We operate no server, so there is nowhere for it to reach us.

NachoBill is unlocked with a one-time purchase through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, not us. We never see your name, your card, your address or your Apple Account. The app asks the App Store one question, whether this Apple Account has bought the unlock, and the App Store answers yes or no.

It is not a subscription and nothing renews. If it came through Family Sharing, that same answer is what tells the app you own it. Apple's own privacy policy covers the purchase itself: apple.com/legal/privacy.

• Delete a split from your history, or a saved group from your groups, and it is gone from the file it was in.
• Turn the camera off in iOS Settings. NachoBill will still open a picture you already took.
• Delete the app and everything on this page goes with it. There is no copy anywhere else, because there was never a copy anywhere else.

NachoBill is not directed at children, and since it collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.

If NachoBill ever changes what it stores or what it sends, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something and update the wording afterwards.
